Chicago’s Kid Color contributed this to the “How Deep Is Your Love” remix competition that DFA, but surprisingly didn’t score too high. We can’t understand why, as we think it’s fantastic! Performed with live bass, guitar, and lifted direct from his Sound Cloud. It’s OK Kyle, you’ve won us over.

Sade – I Couldn’t Love You More (Vin Sol & Charles McCloud Revisited) [320k - mp3]
Ahhhh, Sade. Nothing more soothing than her voice. LA’s Vin Sol & Charles McCloud give “I Couldn’t Love You More” the deep, dreamy treatment that just begs to be played outside outside in the sun.

12th Planet – Jail Break [320k - mp3]
This is the only cut off 12th Planet’s new album “The End Is Near” that I could tolerate. Not only that, I kinda dig it. Slow burning, pushing, pulling, and nicely put together.

We love Blondes. Not just the ditsy ones. We’re totally obsessed with Brooklyn-based Sam Haar and Zach Steinman. This is another preview from their self-titled debut album that drops February 7th on RVNG Intl. We. Can’t. Wait.

Mayer Hawthorne ft. The Festivals – You Got The Makings Of A Good Lover (PillowTalk Edit) [320k - mp3]
Damn, this is sexy. Classic, feel-good & effective. If the doo-wop groups of the 50s & 60s were still alive today and made house music, they’d sound like Pillowtalk. Mayer & Sammy duet included as well. Killer.

Lucky Paul – Rather Go Blind (Etta James Rework) [320k - mp3]
Found this one cruising through XLR8R, and they put it best: “Before he releases his “Elephant Island” single via somethinksounds, New Zealand-based producer Lucky Paul (whom you may remember from this) has delivered a timely rework of Etta James’ classic “I’d Rather Go Blind.” This tribute of a production preserves much of the song’s original structure, keeping the swaying pace nice and slow, but toys with its overall arrangement—adding in bits of synthesizer, subtle bass tones, and beefy percussion before dipping the whole tune into a lush reverb chamber. Look for Lucky Paul’s new 12″, which also features remixes from the likes of Midland and Ossie, on Feburary 13.” RIP, Etta.
