A drummer turned techno producer, Derek Marin has been messing with beats since the ripe age of 9. His discography seems endless with records on labels like Plastic City, dirtybird, Get Physical, Subtrak and more under several different aliases. Monikers like Sideview, Platonik and Modest D are just a few of his known alter egos. In 2004 he started his own Faucet Music, and is now concurrently heading the New York label by way of Detroit, Subtrak. Keep an eye out for Derek, although, in the near future we suspect you won’t be able to miss him!

This is a mix of my current favorites plus a few upcoming releases. I originally tried to use Traktor to make the mix since it’s really the only format i don’t normally use but it didn’t work out for me. I decided instead to mix with Serato & then Ableton for post production with a Traktor X1 for FX & automation. So i ended up using all 3 programs for this one. – DM
